Third Summit Builds Exchange Platform
Global investment markets have entered a new normal, with geopolitics, the AI technology wave and supply chain restructuring accelerating shifts in asset allocation. Cathay Financial Holdings held the "2026 Cathay Asset Management Summit" on October 30 under the theme "Leading the New Normal: Building a New Paradigm for Resilient Investing," inviting domestic and international investment institutions including BlackRock, PIMCO, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Neuberger Berman, with Bloomberg professionals serving as moderators to analyze macroeconomic trends, technology trends and supply chain changes. The event attracted nearly 12,000 registrations, with concurrent online and on-site viewership exceeding 8,000. Cathay Financial Holdings President 李長庚 said the summit, now in its third year, aims to bring together diverse perspectives and build an exchange platform between Taiwan and global asset management markets. Facing rapidly changing markets, steady progress is even more important, which is the core philosophy of "Only with resilience can we move forward with agility." He noted that since the policy push in 2020, Taiwan's investment trust and consulting industry AUM has surpassed NT$23 trillion, growing over 76% in the past year and a half, while the government has also promoted the Asian Asset Management Center policy through deregulation, high-asset business, TISA accounts and the Kaohsiung zone.
Macro Session Offers Multi-Dimensional Global Outlook
The morning session focused on the new global macro and investment landscape, featuring BlackRock Global Fixed Income CIO and Head of the Global Allocation Investment Team Rick Rieder, PIMCO President Christian Stracke, JPMorgan Chief Economist Bruce Kasman, alongside Cathay Life Senior Executive Vice President and Cathay Consult Chairman 王怡聰 and Cathay Asset Management and Cathay United Bank Chief Economist 林啟超. The afternoon session comprised three tracks — "Industry New Normal: AI's Next Step and Emerging Opportunities," "Investment New Normal: Asset Allocation Shifts and Product Positioning," and "Regional New Normal: Supply Chain Shifts Under Policy Guidance" — with domestic and international investment experts and Cathay SITE Senior Vice Presidents 林士喬, 鄭立誠 and teams providing global allocation perspectives from industry, asset and regional angles. 李長庚 stressed that trust is the cornerstone of asset management, and Cathay will continue to deepen investment research, talent development, technology investment, internal controls and risk management to meet opportunities and risks to higher international standards.
Dual-CIO System Deepens Research Governance
Cathay SITE Chairman 李偉正 said 2026 is a key year for leading group resource integration and accelerating professional capability implementation, transforming from a fund product provider into the core asset management platform that undertakes the group's long-term capital, integrates professional investment resources, and expands external markets. As of end-September 2026, Cathay SITE AUM was approximately NT$3.61 trillion, up 55.6% year-on-year, an increase of about NT$1.29 trillion. This year it further adopted a dual-CIO system, with Senior Vice Presidents 林士喬 and 鄭立誠 serving jointly: 林士喬 leads discretionary, quasi-discretionary, trading and investment management, while 鄭立誠 leads mutual funds, ETF management, product strategy and secondary-market liquidity management, with major market changes and cross-asset allocation still discussed jointly through existing mechanisms. On research, it has completed the transfer of domestic and foreign equity assets and nearly 60 investment research professionals, and established an independent research department covering major domestic and foreign markets and mainstream industries, while launching preparatory work in the second half of this year for the introduction of the BlackRock Aladdin investment risk management platform, targeting the full product line with completion expected by end-2027. Cathay Financial Holdings manages over NT$14 trillion in assets, with over 60 years of domestic and overseas investment experience, serving over 15 million customers across Taiwan, and will continue to center on its investment trust arm, integrating banking and insurance resources to deepen high-net-worth services, cross-border allocation and wealth succession planning.
