Summit Enters Third Year With Strong Turnout
Cathay Financial Holdings held its 2026 Cathay Asset Management Summit on 30日 under the theme of leading the new normal: building a new paradigm for resilient investing, bringing together domestic and international investment institutions including BlackRock, PIMCO, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Neuberger Berman, with Bloomberg professionals serving as moderators to analyze macroeconomic trends, technology developments and global supply chain shifts in depth. The event attracted nearly 1.2萬人 in registrations, with concurrent online and on-site viewership exceeding 8000人. General Manager 李長庚 said the summit is now in its 第3年, serving as an exchange platform between Taiwan and global asset management markets, and that amid rapidly changing markets, what matters most is moving forward steadily regardless of economic cycles, which reflects Cathay's core asset management philosophy of staying resilient enough to advance flexibly.
Favorable Timing and Policy Support As SITE Assets Exceed 23兆元
李長庚 noted Taiwan now enjoys favorable timing and conditions, making it an ideal moment to build a strong asset management platform. With the government's Asian Asset Management Center policy, including regulatory easing, high-net-worth business, TISA accounts and the Kaohsiung zone, new momentum has been injected into the industry. Since the policy push from 2020年, Taiwan's SITE industry assets under management have exceeded 新台幣23兆元, growing more than 76% over the past 1年半, showing asset management is not only a financial business but also a key force driving national competitiveness and helping the public accumulate long-term wealth. He stressed trust is the foundation of asset management, and product innovation and business growth must be built on sound governance, adding the group will continue to deepen investment research, talent development, technology investment, internal controls and risk management, holding itself to higher international standards.
SITE Assets Reach 3.61兆元 With Co-CIO System
Cathay SITE Chairman 李偉正 said 2026 is a key year for leading group resource integration and putting professional capabilities into practice, evolving from a fund product provider to a core platform undertaking long-term group capital, integrating professional investment resources and expanding external markets, with the goal of becoming a regional-level asset manager, by further deepening investment research, product strategy and discretionary mandate capabilities. As of 2026年9月底, Cathay SITE's assets under management were about 新台幣3.61兆元, up 55.6% year-on-year, an increase of about 1.29兆元. This year it has further adopted a co-CIO system, with Senior Vice Presidents 林士喬 and 鄭立誠 serving jointly. 林士喬 leads discretionary and quasi-discretionary mandates, trading and investment management, while 鄭立誠 leads mutual funds, ETF fund management, product strategy and secondary-market liquidity management, with major issues still discussed jointly through the investment decision-making mechanism.
Integrating Research Talent and Introducing Aladdin to Retain Capital
In response to the transfer of research talent from Cathay Life, Cathay SITE this year completed the transfer of domestic and overseas equity assets and nearly 60名 research staff, and established an independent research department covering major domestic and overseas markets and mainstream industries. Preparatory work for introducing the BlackRock Aladdin investment risk management platform began in the second half of this year, targeting the full product line, with completion expected by 2027年底. Cathay Financial Holdings manages more than 新台幣14兆元 in assets, with over 60年 of domestic and overseas investment experience, serving more than 1500萬名 customers across Taiwan. 李長庚 said it will use the SITE as the core to integrate banking and insurance clients and distribution resources, deepening high-net-worth services, cross-border allocation and wealth succession planning. TISA has attracted about 20萬戶 in just over a year without tax incentives yet, and its impact could be greater with tax incentives in the future, while the group looks forward to passage of the financial market and asset management development legislation to help retain and attract capital.
