Taiwan Market Plunges 667 Points With Turnover Over 7891.52 Hundred Million Yuan
Taiwan stocks saw a sharp pullback today (29th), with the weighted index closing at 46368.33 points, down 667.25 points, and turnover reaching 7891.52 hundred million yuan. The OTC index fell 1.83%, with turnover of 2127.33 hundred million yuan.
UMC Hits Limit Down to Close at NT$115.5
UMC (2303), with 1.07 million shareholders, became the target of foreign-investor and investment-trust selling, with combined net selling of 149,789 lots. Foreign investors sold 129,272 lots, and investment trusts sold 20,517 lots. UMC shares fell NT$12.5, or 9.77%, closing at NT$115.5 to hit limit down.
