TAIEX Plunges 683.63 Points in Early Trading
The TAIEX opened down 20.71 points at 47014.87 on the 29th, with losses widening in early trading. As of 9:55 AM, it was quoted at 46351.95, down 683.63 points or 1.45%. Selling pressure returned, with few gainers among AI-related stocks in intraday trading as multiple benchmark stocks weakened together.
台達電 First-Three-Quarters EPS of 26.64 Hits Record High
Power supply leader 台達電 reported third-quarter results on the 28th, with quarterly net profit after tax of 23.495 billion yuan, down 6.53% QoQ and up 26.28% YoY, the second-highest quarterly record, or EPS of 9.04 yuan. Cumulative net profit after tax for the first three quarters was 69.186 billion yuan, up 61.71% YoY, with EPS of 26.64 yuan, both record highs. 台達電 will hold an investor conference this afternoon, with the market closely watching the fourth-quarter operating outlook to be released.
Parade Expects Q4 Revenue to Fall Over 20% QoQ
High-speed interface chipmaker 譜瑞-KY held an online investor conference yesterday. The company said that as the notebook PC market was affected by price increases for components such as DRAM, consumer demand cooled significantly. Third-quarter net profit after tax was 591 million yuan, down about 0.3% QoQ, with EPS of 7.69 yuan. Cumulative net profit after tax for the first 3 quarters was 1.714 billion yuan, down 21.46% YoY, with EPS of 22.02 yuan. Chairman 趙捷 said that to cope with higher costs from rising prices of components such as DRAM, notebook PCs have started price increases, consumer purchase willingness is visibly weak, and therefore fourth-quarter revenue is expected to fall 20% to 27% QoQ, with a conservative future operating outlook.

台達電 shares were under pressure today, quoted at 1460 yuan, down 90 yuan or 5.81%. 譜瑞-KY shares were quoted at 493 yuan, down sharply by 6.10%. According to Yahoo! stock market data, AI-related stocks falling over 3% included 京元電子 down 3.06%, 欣興 down 3.18%, 波若威 down 3.34%, 高技 down 3.40%, M31 down 3.54%, 達發 down 3.61%, 創意 down 3.73%, 華碩 down 3.85%, 英業達 down 3.92%, 訊芯-KY down 3.94%, 川湖 down 4.29%, 貿聯-KY down 4.42%, 金像電 down 4.64%, 微星 down 4.75%, 伊雲谷 down 4.77%, 和亞智慧 down 5.09%, 技嘉 down 5.10%, 凌華 down 5.29%, 穎崴 down 5.37%, 台達電 down 5.81%, 譜瑞-KY down 6.10%, and AMAX-KY down 6.62%.
