Taiwan Stocks Plunge Nearly 1,000 Points Intraday
Taiwan stocks moved lower intraday on October 29, with the weighted index once plunging 974.11 points, or 2.08%, to 46135.03 points. As of 12:15, selling pressure eased slightly, with the index down 896.55 points, or 1.91%, at 46139.03 points. Selling pressure was heavy across the board, packaging and testing concept stocks were weak, and the market was broadly lower.

The actively managed fund 統一台股增長00981A, referred to by the market as 瑤池金母, added 1,976 lots of packaging and testing leader 日月光投控3711 yesterday, ranking first. Other additions were 金像電2368 with 657 lots in second place, 富世達6805 with 157 lots, 聯發科2454 with 73 lots, and 創意3443 with 71 lots. Only two stocks were reduced, 勤誠8210 with a reduction of 76 lots ranking first, and 穎崴6515 with a reduction of 8 lots in second. Despite the large addition, 日月光投控 fell NT$12 today, or 1.73%, to NT$683.
