Eight Consecutive Years of Participation with Full-Cycle Services
The 9th China International Import Expo will be held from November 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As a comprehensive partner, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has participated in and served the CIIE for eight consecutive years, relying on its overseas service network covering 69 countries and regions to build a full-cycle service system for exhibitors and buyers around key events, featured pavilions, financial services, supply-demand matchmaking and on-site support. This year the bank will host the 8th China-Europe Entrepreneurs Conference and undertake a sub-forum of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, and for the sixth consecutive year will build a 1,200-square-meter featured pavilion in the food and agricultural products exhibition area under an entrusted exhibition model, while exclusively title-sponsoring key buyer selection meetings and the buyer corridor, supporting global exhibitors in expanding into the Chinese market through integrated exhibitions, conferences, finance and services.
High-End Dialogue Deepens China-Europe Financial Cooperation
The China-Europe Entrepreneurs Conference and the Hongqiao sub-forum are key branded events for ICBC's CIIE services. In April 2021, under the guidance of China's Ministry of Commerce, ICBC jointly established the China-Europe Enterprise Alliance with Chinese and European companies and serves as its chair, with nearly 150 members now covering 21 countries, including over 50 Global 500 companies, and the conference has been successfully held for seven consecutive years. The 8th China-Europe Entrepreneurs Conference will be held on the morning of November 6 in the West Hall, followed by the Export to China UK-China Business Matchmaking Meeting and the China-Europe Enterprise Alliance-Shaanxi Investment and Trade Matchmaking Meeting. Leveraging the Belt and Road Inter-bank Cooperation Mechanism it led in establishing in 2017, ICBC has undertaken the Hongqiao sub-forum for five consecutive years. The mechanism has expanded to 220 financial institutions and international multilateral organizations in 79 countries and regions, and on the afternoon of November 6 will hold a sub-forum on building a stable, prosperous and open global financial partnership in Hall 4.2 and release a number of achievements.
Entrusted Pavilion Gathers 1,000 Products from 55 Countries
Since the 4th CIIE, ICBC has pioneered the model of building a featured pavilion in the agricultural and food products area as an entrusted exhibitor by a financial institution, providing a centralized display platform for nearly 800 exhibitors from 54 countries and regions cumulatively. This year it will build a 1,200-square-meter pavilion in Hall 8.2, bringing together nearly 160 exhibitors from 55 countries and regions with more than 1,000 high-quality global food and agricultural products, and will set up a BRICS country zone for the first time, focusing on guest countries of honor and theme countries exporting to China, with products from Panama, Costa Rica and other countries making their debut. During the expo, ICBC and the CIIE Bureau will jointly hold selection meetings and the buyer corridor in adjacent areas, selecting 22 high-quality leading buyers covering food and beverage, beauty and personal care, home appliances and home furnishings, fashion trends, sports and outdoor, and health and nutrition sectors, and will hold special sessions for supermarket and convenience store, e-commerce platform, new retail channel merchant and agency distributor channels to help overseas exhibitors understand Chinese demand and expand sales channels.
Upgraded Financial and Volunteer Services to Support Participants
On financial services, ICBC released a comprehensive financial solution for the 9th CIIE at the 100-day countdown. For exhibitors, it provides pre-expo investment promotion, in-expo display and buyer matchmaking, as well as multi-currency global accounts, cross-border settlement, supply chain financing and global treasury management, helping exhibits become commodities and exhibitors become investors; for buyers, it provides investment roadshows and trading delegation registration, building an efficient settlement system through ICBC Express Remittance and ICBC e-Instant, and launching Cross-border e-Power Connect and Cross-border e-Warehouse Connect to meet new foreign trade business needs; for individual customers, it has deployed over 1,600 ATMs and more than 3,000 foreign-card POS terminals in Shanghai, supporting payment with mainstream overseas bank cards as well as binding foreign cards domestically, ICBC Card Code Pass and mobile banking vehicles. On site, 430 multilingual Little Leaf volunteers will be organized to provide consultation, guidance and translation services, and the Shanghai Branch will use its global customer intelligent service platform to improve matchmaking efficiency.
