Specializing in Laser Welding, Joins as Founding Member
The US national robotics industry alliance Robots for America announced on 2026年11月3日 that aRobotics, Inc., specializing in defense manufacturing, has officially joined the alliance as one of the founding members. According to Digital Journal, aRobotics will contribute its expertise in robotic laser welding, inspection and repair to help advance US robotics policy. Robots for America is a National-level alliance aimed at helping US manufacturers adopt robotics and automation technologies to strengthen domestic industrial capacity and defense readiness.
Capacity Is National Strength, Filling the Labor Gap
aRobotics co-CEO Nicholas Angerame said industrial capacity is national strength, and for the US to deter conflict and meet challenges, it must have the ability to build, repair and replenish equipment at scale. He noted the company's tools can help small manufacturers and maintenance personnel in remote areas improve welding, inspection and equipment maintenance efficiency without relying on scarce skilled talent. According to a US Government Accountability Office report, over the past decade US Navy attack submarines have lost more than 15,000 operational days due to maintenance delays and idle time. The American Welding Society estimates that by 2029年 the US will need more than 32萬 new welding professionals, highlighting the importance of automation in easing labor shortages.
Deep Roots in Defense Contracts, Technology Deployed with US Military
Founded in 2021年, aRobotics now has more than 50名 employees, most of them engineers, and designs and manufactures robots in Ossining, New York, integrating manufacturing, electronics, software, sensing and autonomy technologies. Its laser welding technology aims to simplify manufacturing and repair tasks and reduce operator training burdens. The company has signed multiple contracts with the US Air Force, Navy and Army, including developing the expeditionary laser welding technology Lase-R for the Air Force and providing real-time weld inspection tools for the Naval Sea Systems Command, and has worked with Sikorsky Aircraft and General Dynamics, and won the NATO DIANA Challenge. Robots for America Executive Director Neysan Rassekh said national security is closely tied to manufacturing capability, and the technology makes jobs that once took years to master accessible, helping to upskill workers, while related automation policies can strengthen both the economy and national defense.
