Imaging equipment and electromechanical integration maker TECO Image Systems (5438) announced that it has won the "Transport Drone" item under the Bank of Taiwan Procurement Department's "Drone Systems" joint supply contract (Tender No. LP5-114063), having been selected as the most advantageous bid winner. The award demonstrates progress in its drone business deployment and lays an important foundation for further expansion into government and enterprise markets.
Integrated Manufacturing Capabilities Enter Drone Mass Production
TECO Image Systems has long focused on imaging equipment and precision electronic product manufacturing, accumulating expertise in mechanisms, optics, electronic controls, and assembly, with well-established 3D printing and lens manufacturing and assembly capabilities. In recent years, leveraging its existing 3D printing, optical lens manufacturing and assembly, and precision mechanism design technologies, it has actively expanded into drone R&D and manufacturing, progressing from assisting clients with product design and development manufacturing to gradually building complete-system integration and mass-production capabilities.
TECO Image Systems stated that it now possesses drone mass-production capabilities and can adjust product specifications according to different application scenarios and customer needs, providing comprehensive services in terms of delivery time, quality, and customization. Compared with pure equipment suppliers, TECO Image Systems possesses R&D and design, key component manufacturing, and complete-system integration capabilities, and is expected to establish differentiated competitive advantages as demand for government and enterprise drone projects continues to expand.
Transport Specifications Focus on Performance and Information Security; Contract Budget Exceeds NT$1,048,108,000
The awarded "Transport Drone" item, under the procurement specifications, requires a maximum takeoff weight of under 25 kg, additional payload capacity of 3 kg or more, unloaded endurance of 30 minutes or more, and features including vertical takeoff and landing, GNSS automatic flight, horizontal obstacle avoidance, real-time video transmission, and automatic handling upon signal loss. In addition, the drone must have image inference computing power of 2 TOPS or more, transmission links encrypted with AES 256-bit or higher, and be paired with a logistics box capable of recording video and temperature throughout the process, to meet transport needs for medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, and other supplies. The Bank of Taiwan's overall "Drone Systems" joint supply contract has a total procurement budget of approximately NT$1,048,108,000, and TECO Image Systems has obtained qualification as the winning bidder for the "Transport Drone" item, and will subsequently provide equipment supply, education and training, and warranty and maintenance services under the contract, with actual order quantities and amounts still subject to orders placed by individual agencies, which is expected to inject growth momentum into future drone-related revenue. Looking ahead, TECO Image Systems stated that it will continue to deepen its drone R&D, manufacturing, and systems integration capabilities, expanding its service scope from collaborative development to complete-system supply, strengthening its ability to undertake customized projects and scaled orders, and aims to become a preferred partner for government agencies and industrial clients in promoting related projects, adding new growth momentum for medium- to long-term operations.
