Number of Funds Reaches 95, Beneficiaries Top 19.58 Million
According to the latest TDCC shareholding distribution statistics on October 22, boosted by newly listed ETFs, the total number of Taiwan stock ETFs officially reached a record high of 95, while total beneficiaries surged past the 19.58 million mark, setting new highs for two consecutive weeks, with a cumulative surge of over 7.4 million since the beginning of this year, showing that amid market volatility, investors' willingness to participate in Taiwan stocks through ETFs continues to rise.
26 ETFs Hit New Highs in Popularity Against the Trend
In terms of changes in beneficiaries for individual ETFs, a total of 26 ETFs including 00415A, 00406A, 0050, 00919, 00927, 0056, 00985A saw beneficiaries hit new highs simultaneously, with actively managed, market-cap-based, and high-dividend types relatively more popular. Market institutions point out that as stock-picking is more difficult for retail investors, allocating to Taiwan stock ETFs can effectively diversify single-stock volatility risks while participating in future upside opportunities in Taiwan stocks.
Institutions Focus on Stock Selection Over Market Timing
The actively managed Taiwan stock ETF research team at Capital Investment Trust表示, in addition to fundamental support, Taiwan stocks remain highly sensitive to international markets and foreign investor moves, so stock selection over market timing remains the core strategy at present. Notably, as the AI wave reshapes Taiwan's industrial structure, large technology leaders have become the main engine of market growth, making the advantages of market-cap-based and actively managed investing even more pronounced.
Targeting AI Supply Chains and Leading Groups
Active Capital Core 50 manager 許育誌 suggests investors can navigate the market through a strategy covering three main pillars to select the top 50 core Taiwan stocks, including currently strong leading stocks with resilient profitability, heavyweight trending thousand-dollar stocks born from the AI wave, and future leading stocks with business opportunities and themes. As Taiwan manufacturers play key roles across the upstream, midstream, and downstream global technology chain, areas including wafer foundry, PCB/CCL, packaging and testing, and power supplies are all expected to continue benefiting from industry tailwinds.
Capital Semiconductor Income and Capital Taiwan Select High Dividend ETF manager 謝明志 believes investment positioning should focus on industry leaders with sound fundamentals and moat advantages, while keeping a close eye on AI technology upgrade cycles to position early for short-term thematic breakout opportunities, favoring groups related to advanced semiconductor processes, related equipment, communications, and productivity-enhancing applications; in the long run, as long as Taiwan stock fundamentals remain intact, every market pullback is the best opportunity for medium- to long-term bargain布局.
