Institutions Focus on Stock Picking Over Market Timing, Bet on AI Reshaping Structure
The Active Taiwan Equity ETF research team at Capital Investment Trust said that in addition to fundamentals, Taiwan stocks are mainly influenced by global markets and foreign investor flows, but the key remains stock picking over market timing. In recent years, the AI wave has reshaped Taiwan's industrial structure, with large technology leaders becoming the core of market growth, further highlighting the advantage of market-cap investing. Aggressive investors are advised to choose actively managed market-cap Taiwan equity ETFs that can flexibly rotate into strong sectors and future growth stories, while conservative investors can use high-dividend ETFs for resilience and balanced risk.
Hsu Yu-Chih, manager of Active Capital Core 50, said Taiwan stocks are expected to show stock-picking-driven performance ahead, and recommended selecting the core 50 Taiwan leaders along three themes, including resilient current strong leading stocks with solid earnings, heavyweight would-be high-price trend stocks born from the AI wave, and future leaders with business opportunities and themes. Taiwan manufacturers play key technology supply and component manufacturing roles across the upstream, midstream and downstream of the global technology chain, including wafer foundry, PCB-CCL, assembly and testing, and power supplies, and are expected to continue to benefit. Hsieh Ming-Chih, manager of Capital Semiconductor Income and Capital Taiwan Select High Dividend ETF, said investors can focus on industry leaders with solid fundamentals and moat advantages to capture long-term AI growth momentum, remaining positive on advanced semiconductor processes, semiconductor equipment, communications, AI applications and productivity-enhancing groups. With Taiwan fundamentals supported, every pullback is a medium- to long-term buying opportunity.
