Taiwan Stock ETFs Reach 95 Funds as Beneficiaries Top 19.58 Million
New additions to the Taiwan stock ETF market have pushed both the total number of funds and beneficiaries to new records. According to the latest Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation shareholder distribution statistics as of October 22, boosted by new listings, the total number of Taiwan stock ETFs has officially reached a historic high of 95, while total beneficiaries jumped past the 19.58 million mark, setting new records for two consecutive weeks, with a cumulative surge of over 7.4 million so far this year. By individual fund, a total of 26 ETFs including 00415A, 00406A, 0050, 00919, 00927, 0056, and 00985A saw beneficiaries hit new highs, with active, market-cap, and high-dividend types relatively more popular.
Stock-Picking Over Market-Timing Remains Core Strategy
Market analysts point out that as stock-picking is more difficult for retail investors, allocating to Taiwan stock ETFs can effectively diversify single-stock volatility risks while participating in future upside opportunities in Taiwan stocks. The active Taiwan stock ETF research team at Capital Investment Trust said that in addition to fundamental support, Taiwan stocks remain highly driven by international markets and foreign investor moves, so stock-picking over market-timing remains the core strategy for now. Notably, as the artificial intelligence wave reshapes Taiwan's industrial structure, large technology leaders have become the main engine of market growth, making the advantages of market-cap and active investing more pronounced.
Focus on Three Pillars and AI Industry Dividends
Hsu Yu-Chih, manager of the Active Capital Core 50, suggests investors can navigate the market through a strategy covering three pillars to select Taiwan's top 50 core stocks, including currently strong leading stocks with resilient profitability, heavyweight trend stocks born from the AI wave, and future leading stocks with business opportunities and themes. As Taiwanese companies play a key role across the upstream, midstream, and downstream of the global technology chain, areas including wafer foundry, PCB/CCL, packaging and testing, and power supply are all expected to continue benefiting from industry dividends.
Hsieh Ming-Chih, manager of the Capital Semiconductor Income and Capital Taiwan Select High Dividend ETFs, believes investment positioning should focus on industry leaders with solid fundamentals and moat advantages, while keeping close watch on the AI technology renewal cycle to position early for short-term thematic breakout opportunities, favoring advanced semiconductor processes, related equipment, communications, and productivity-enhancing application groups. Over the long term, as long as Taiwan stock fundamentals remain sound, every market pullback is the best opportunity to buy on dips for the medium to long term. Investors should make independent judgments, carefully evaluate risks, and bear their own investment risks.
