Taiwan stocks on the 27th opened higher and moved lower, surging to 46585 in early trading, then fluctuating around the flat line after 10:00 and turning negative four times, before sliding to 45676 and breaking below the 46000 mark, with an intraday high-low swing of 909 points. As of 11:45, Taiwan stocks were provisionally reported at 46008, down 33.4 points, or 0.07%, with trading volume reaching 6698億元, showing an open-higher-close-lower, back-and-forth volatile pattern.
台積電 Edged Up While Electronic Components Weakened
台積電2330 rose intraday to 2390元, up 5元, or 0.21%, performing relatively steadily. By sector, even as the four major US indices rose on the Anthropic IPO, Taiwan stocks did not extend the AI rally. Electronic components fell 2.35%, with 禾伸堂3026 down 5%, 台達電2308 down 3.5%, and 川湖2059 down 0.97%. Glass stocks, also related to AI and semiconductors, also declined today, with bellwether 台玻1802 down nearly 2%.
Auto Stocks Recovered and Supported the Market
Among traditional industries, even as the 台塑 four treasures, plastic-rubber and chemical stocks entered consolidation, the long-sluggish auto sector recovered, with auto stocks rising 0.72% today. On the decliners list, 映興3597, 泓德能源6873, 宏至3605, 台燿6274 and 達航科技4577 fell more deeply. Overall, the broader market swung 909 points from high to low, with sectors and individual stocks diverging, and the market remaining in volatile consolidation.
