The strongest performer in the group was Chin-Poon 2355, up NT$4.95, or 9.99%, at NT$54.5, hitting the daily limit first and leading the sector higher. The three IC-substrate makers also rose together: Nanya PCB 8046 rose NT$25, or 1.99%, to NT$1280; Unimicron 3037 rose NT$15, or 1.42%, to NT$1075; Kinsus 3189 rose NT$37, or 3.93%, to NT$978.

Among stocks up over 3%, Compeq 2313 rose NT$8.5, or 3.94%, to NT$224.5; Zhi-Chao 8213 rose NT$2.1, or 5.18%, to NT$42.65; HannStar Board 2367 rose NT$2, or 4.62%, to NT$45.3; Gold Circuit Electronics 2368 rose NT$60, or 5.56%, to NT$1140, all showing relatively strong gains.
