Public Investment Trust Consolidation Stalled, Rumor of Ending Co-Governance
Regarding market rumors that in the four-in-one consolidation case of public investment trusts, 華南金 was the least cooperative with the policy because private major shareholders intended to take the lead, and that public shares planned to break the years-long public-private co-governance situation at the next board election to secure an absolute majority of seats. Deputy Finance Minister 阮清華 said in an interview on the 30th that he did not know where the rumor came from and could not respond to groundless speculation. He said directly that public and private shares are currently in harmonious co-governance, and co-governance is not new, public-private co-governance has lasted for many years, cooperation is still good, and public-private co-governance poses little problem.
Citing Share Price Performance, Second Highest Among Public Holdings
阮清華 also cited the share price performance of 華南金 as evidence of smooth cooperation between the two sides. He pointed out that the share price of 華南金 is now the second highest among public holdings, second only to 兆豐金 and already surpassing 第一金, rising to 50元, which is a strong market endorsement of 華南金. He said operating structure of 華南金 has changed somewhat, with continued push in consumer finance business, fee income already exceeding 100多億元 so far this year, achieving very good results in consumer finance business, with overall performance recognized by the market.
Stressing Differences Can Be Communicated, No Response on Board Seats
阮清華 stressed again that public and private shares at 華南金 have cooperated for many years and relatively smoothly, as can be seen from share price performance, and the situation is not as serious as imagined. Of course, private shares have their own views and public shares have their own views, but all can be communicated, and he believes the problem is not serious. 阮清華 made the remarks on the 30th while attending the 25th anniversary tea party of Taiwan Financial Asset Service Corp 聯成. As for whether public shares have no plan to increase board seats, he only said he could not answer groundless matters.
