Taiwan Stocks Plunge 1156 Points as Foreign Investors Net Sell Over NT$100 Billion
Taiwan stocks opened lower and moved lower on October 30, with the weighted index closing at 45211.83, down 1156.50 points or 2.49%, with turnover of about NT$879.257 billion. According to chip data released by the Taiwan Stock Exchange, foreign investors net sold NT$112.467 billion in a single day, with listed ETFs becoming the main targets of foreign investor adjustments, keeping overall market under pressure while trading volume stayed at a high level.
0050 Net Sold for 16 Straight Days, Withdrawals Reach NT$74.9 Billion
Known as the national ETF, 元大台灣50 (0050) was net sold 9萬7979 lots by foreign investors in a single day, withdrawing NT$10.237 billion, ranking first among listed ETFs in foreign net sales by volume. It has now been net sold by foreign investors for 16 consecutive trading days, with cumulative net sales of 68.4萬 lots and cumulative withdrawals of NT$74.995 billion, the largest among all ETFs, showing large-cap weighted ETFs remain the focus of foreign adjustments.
Three Pillars of Active ETFs Under Pressure Together
The three leading active ETFs by size and number of beneficiaries all fell together. Active 統一 Taiwan Growth (00981A) was net sold 7萬1405 lots in a single day, Active CTBC Taiwan Income (00406A) was net sold 6萬8534 lots, and Active 統一 Upgrade 50 (00403A) was net sold 4萬1521 lots, with the three combined seeing foreign disposals of 18.1萬 lots, recovering NT$2.875 billion. In addition, Active Cathay Momentum High Dividend (00400A) saw net sales of 1萬9194 lots, and Active Fuh Hwa Future 50 (00991A) saw net sales of 1萬5319 lots, also landing on the foreign net-sell list.

Ranked sixth to tenth were Active Cathay Momentum High Dividend with 1萬9194 lots, Capital Taiwan Select High Dividend (00919) with 1萬7238 lots, Active Fuh Hwa Future 50 with 1萬5319 lots, KGI Taiwan TOP50 (009816) with 1萬3507 lots, and 元大高股息 (0056) with 1萬1108 lots.
