Backlight module maker Coretronic Corp. (3718) held an online investor conference on the 28th, announcing a cumulative net loss attributable to parent company shareholders of NT$1.83億元 for the first 3 quarters, swinging from profit to loss from the same period last year, with a loss per share of 0.47元. However, it turned profitable in the single Q3, with net profit attributable to parent company shareholders of 0.13億元, turning from loss to profit from Q2, with earnings per share of 0.03元. The company expects shipments of both energy-saving and imaging products in Q4 to decline from Q3.
Energy-Saving Products in Q4 Estimated to Fall by 1成
Coretronic said that, affected by conservative market outlooks from PC brand vendors, demand for notebook products in Q4 remains weak, but new projects with China panel makers are gradually ramping up, partially offsetting the impact of weak demand. Affected by AI servers continuing to consume memory supply, demand for consumer electronics products remains weak, and the component shortage has not yet eased. As the traditional peak season ends, shipments of notebook, TV and public display applications will all decrease.
Chairman Si-Ke Wang said that although automakers continue to manage inventories cautiously, shipments of in-vehicle products are still expected to hold steady at the Q3 level. As the seasonal demand peak fades, brand customers are conservative in placing orders, and sales momentum for notebooks, TVs and public displays is slowing, overall shipments of energy-saving products in Q4 are expected to decrease by about 1成 from Q3. For the full year, overall shipments of energy-saving products will grow slightly from last year. Shipment momentum for organic light-emitting diode displays is strong, with further growth still depending on industry inventories and end demand.
Imaging Products Enter Inventory Adjustment
For imaging products, Coretronic noted that customers pulled in stocking in the first 3 quarters due to supply chain instability, and will conduct inventory adjustment in Q4, with overall shipments expected to decline slightly from Q3. However, benefiting from Christmas holiday demand, shipments of consumer-market micro smart projectors are expected to grow slightly from Q3. Logistics vehicle projection modules will complete phased deliveries, and the next-generation new logistics projection products are expected to enter mass production successively from the second half of 2027.
Full-Year Imaging Estimated Down 10% to 20%
Coretronic estimates that full-year shipments of imaging products this year will decrease by 10% to 20% from last year, but benefiting from product mix optimization, the average selling price is expected to increase significantly. Sales momentum for in-vehicle interior projection products is currently strong, with demand in 2027 estimated to grow by 60% to 70%. In addition, logistics projection module application products equipped with AI technology will be upgraded to next-generation products in the second half of next year.
