Taiwan Stocks Plunge 974 Points Intraday
Taiwan stocks trended lower in volatility on October 29, with the benchmark index plunging 974.11 points, or 2.08%, to 46135.03 points at one point. As of 12:15, the decline narrowed slightly, down 896.55 points, or 1.91%, temporarily reported at 46139.03 points, with bears still dominating the market.
00981A Adds 1976 Lots of ASE Technology Holding, Ranking First
Known in the market as Yaochi Golden Mother, the actively managed fund Uni-President Taiwan Stock Growth 00981A showed holding changes yesterday with an increase of 1976 lots in OSAT leader ASE Technology Holding 3711, ranking first among additions. Other additions in order were Gold Circuit Electronics 2368 with 657 lots, Fushida 6805 with 157 lots, MediaTek 2454 with 73 lots, and Global Unichip 3443 with 71 lots. Only two stocks were reduced, namely Chenbro 8210 with a reduction of 76 lots ranking first, and WinWay 6515 with a reduction of 8 lots ranking second.
Despite the large increase by 00981A, ASE Technology Holding failed to support the market today, falling 12 yuan, or 1.73%, temporarily reported at 683 yuan. Overall OSAT concept stocks were weak, with those falling over 3% including Chipbond 6147 down 20.5 yuan, or 9.21%, temporarily reported at 202 yuan, Kinsus 3189 down 74 yuan, or 7.15%, temporarily reported at 961 yuan, Tong Hsin Electric 6271 down 9 yuan, or 4.2%, temporarily reported at 205.5 yuan, Taistar 3265 down 7 yuan, or 3.17%, temporarily reported at 214 yuan, and King Yuan Electronics 2449 down 8.5 yuan, or 3.06%, temporarily reported at 269 yuan.
Most OSAT Group Weak, Only Two Stocks Close Higher
Among other decliners, Walton 2329 fell 1.25 yuan, or 2.96%, temporarily reported at 41.05 yuan, ChipMOS 8150 fell 2.7 yuan, or 2.69%, temporarily reported at 97.8 yuan, Supertex 2441 fell 2.5 yuan, or 2.16%, temporarily reported at 113 yuan, Sigurd 6257 fell 4.5 yuan, or 1.92%, temporarily reported at 229.5 yuan, Lingsheng 2369 fell 0.5 yuan, or 1.72%, temporarily reported at 28.6 yuan, Joyin 6261 fell 1.3 yuan, or 1.71%, temporarily reported at 74.7 yuan, Huadong 8110 fell 0.75 yuan, or 1.63%, temporarily reported at 45.3 yuan, Dianfan 3372 fell 0.2 yuan, or 1.33%, temporarily reported at 14.85 yuan, and Fumao Technology 8131 fell 0.8 yuan, or 1.29%, temporarily reported at 61.4 yuan.
Amid widespread weakness, only two stocks rose against the trend, with Qinyi Holdings 1437 up 0.05 yuan, or 0.16%, temporarily reported at 31.55 yuan, and Yichang 3567 up 0.15 yuan, or 0.59%, temporarily reported at 25.4 yuan. Those flat were Powertech 6239 temporarily reported at 272.5 yuan and Ardentec 3264 temporarily reported at 237.5 yuan.
