Five-Year Partnership Extends to Generative AI Applications
Chunghwa Telecom has been engaged in deep collaboration with Google since 2021, expanding from video entertainment and cloud services into smart devices, digital content and AI applications. The two sides held a "Gemini Goes Big, Play Big with Brilliance" press conference on the 4th, attended by Chunghwa Telecom General Manager Lin Rong-si and Google Taiwan General Manager Lin Ya-fang, announcing the launch of new Google AI plans. Lin Rong-si said Chunghwa Telecom upholds its customer-centric and technology-empowerment philosophy, building stable and reliable Haiti Starry Sky resilient network infrastructure while introducing world-leading innovative technologies to provide diverse, convenient and secure digital lifestyle services for its ten million users in Taiwan, creating a complete AI experience from connectivity and devices to applications.
Bundled Tariffs Offer Diverse AI Discount Plans
In response to growing demand for cloud storage and AI features, Chunghwa Telecom led its peers in 2022 by launching telecom tariffs bundled with Google One cloud storage membership, and has now further introduced diverse Google AI discount plans. Both new and existing customers can choose to bundle mobile tariffs or broadband plans, or apply for a standalone annual rental plan. Applicants for the Brilliant 5G plan can enjoy the first month or first year of Google AI Plus service free of charge, while designated broadband plans offer the first 6 months free. Standalone annual rental plans for Google AI Plus 2TB and Google AI Pro 5TB are offered at 20% off the original price or more, along with a Google AI Plus 400GB annual plan bundled with i Listening and Cyber Guardian Mobile Edition to meet digital-learning and cybersecurity needs.
Extra Data and Point Rewards to Attract Customers
To promote the AI plans, Chunghwa Telecom is offering limited-time application incentives. From now until January 31, 2027, applicants for any Google AI plan who complete activation will receive 5GB of mobile data, granted once with no quota limit. Those who complete application and activation by November 30, 2026 will additionally receive 100 Hami Points. Lin Ya-fang said Google has fully integrated Gemini across its software-hardware ecosystem through cutting-edge models, Pixel devices, cloud storage and application services, relying on support from local partners, and looks forward to working with Chunghwa Telecom to let more users in Taiwan experience the power and convenience of the Google AI ecosystem as a smart companion for everyday exploration and self-empowerment.
140 Stores Support Experience Marketing
On the retail front, Chunghwa Telecom is leveraging its network and platform advantages and its dense service locations across Taiwan to jointly promote Google Pixel, YouTube Premium and Google AI plans. Pixel showcase areas have been set up in 140 stores, with Pixel experts providing guidance, alongside enhanced training for store staff on integrated AI hardware-software applications. A brand-new Google Pixel experience zone will debut before the end of this year, using interactive design to let consumers experience Pixel phones connected to Gemini and Google AI ecosystem applications. It is also launching the Gemini Goes Big YouTube Shorts creation contest, where short videos created with Gemini and reviewed for upload to YouTube can win Google Pixel 11 Pro series phones and grand prizes worth over NT$80,000, with weekly draws for Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 noise-cancelling Bluetooth earbuds and Hami Points during the period.
